Secret Garden is an Irish-Norwegian duo playing New Instrumental Music, also understood by some as Neo-classical music.
It features the Irish violinist Fionnuala Sherry and the Norwegian composer/pianist Rolf Løvland. Secret Garden has sold over 3 million albums and won the Eurovision Song Contest for Norway in 1995, with the composition Nocturne. It was the first and only time to date that a predominantly instrumental piece has won the Eurovision Song Contest, although a few Norwegian language lyrics were included to ensure that the entry adhered to the contest's rules. Norwegian singer Gunnhild Tvinnereim sang the song on the eurovision song contest, but is actually not a member of the group. In addition Rolf Løvland also co-wrote the song "La det swinge" (Let it swing) that secured Norway its first Eurovision Song Contest victory in 1985.
They began when Kon-Tiki members Mark Reale (guitar) and Peter Bitelli (drums) recruited Phil Fiet (bass) and Guy Speranza (vocals) and recorded a four-track demo which they hoped would be included in a proposed compilation of new rock bands. While waiting for the project to get off the ground they added Steve Costello on keyboards.

- This article discusses the Japanese singer hitomi. For other uses of the term hitomi see Hitomi (disambiguation).
In addition to having consistently been one of the most popular and successful musicians in Japan since her debut in 1994, with an impressive discography including hit releases "by myself" (1996), "IS IT YOU?" (2001), "SAMURAI DRIVE" (2002), and "Japanese girl" (2005), hitomi is also acknowledged as one of the most influential figures in Japanese pop culture. Along with Utada Hikaru and Ayumi Hamasaki, hitomi has helped redefine and evolve the female Japanese pop singer, in the words of the writer Jay Rubin, "from a mere voice accompanied by music, to a full-fledged artist and performer, independent, creative, and credible."
